METAR observations from ASOS & AWOS [Iowa State] 
Can retrieve hourly and sub-hourly surface obs from ASOS & AWOS stations going back many years.

ACIS climate data source (SC) 
Useful climate data access & search site. Daily, monthly etc formats. see also XM ACIS entry.

Alaska Climate Research Center 
UAF's climate center has much information and easy to use data on Fairbanks and the entire state.

NWS's portal for aviation weather in Alaska.

Satellite images from Environment Canada 
Some nice images. Alaska coverage is good..choose western Canada, Yukon, North Pacific etc.

Analysis & Modeling from Environment Canada 
Basic surface and upper air maps. Coverage for SE Alaska or more. Precipitation forecast maps from the Canadian model. Also sea surface temperature, snow  coverage, & sea ice analysis.

Aviation Wx from Environment Canada 
Full range of aviation wx info for Canada including nicely done webcams.

Western Regional Climate Center 
Excellent source of climate data with about the most complete list of stations. Monthly historical data and daily averages and extremes. *caution* some tables lack recent years' data.

International Cloud Atlas online edition from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

FAA web cams 
Great site for aviation-oriented web cams.

Univ of Wyoming weather pages 
Some good Alaska data including historical surface and upper air data, maps, plots, soundings (such as skew-t), and meteograms, and model data output in meteogram format.

Very useful climate data access & search site. Daily, monthly etc formats, graphs, time series, rankings, extremes, multi-station stats. Based on current NCDC database. A little more offered than at the SC ACIS site.

*Climate Prediction Center [NOAA/NCEP] 
NOAA's office for long range forecast from 8 days to 3 months.

Analyze & Plot Long Range Climate Timeseries [ESRL/PSD] 
Great tool for graphing (& downloading datasets) of ocean/atmosphere time series such as PDO and ENSO, and many more.

Surface wx obs map based [Mesowest] 
Useful map-based obs site. Comprehensive number of observing sites from several networks including remote and mountain sites.

Road Weather Info System [SOA] 
Access to highway weather stations and cams.

Valuable coastal wind and weather reports available via this table and via map format.

Climate Reanalyzer 
Nicely done visualization tools with lots of data from reanalysis models and other data sets both near term and historical. Unfortunately not all tools have Alaska coverage.

Tropical Tidbits model interface 
Nicely done model animations with more models available than other links in this database.

model forecast Meteograms from COLA/GMU 
Perhaps the most detailed forecast metograms I've run across, however, must input lat and lon as there are only 2 Alaska locations preset. from COLA/ George Mason University.

Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) program home page 
ASOS (and the similar AWOS) weather stations are the automated reports at airports that are the bulk of the hourly ground level observations in the US. This site gives general inof, user's guide and links to data.

Bering Sea weather, climate, oceanographic, and other data
